Development of the Textile Industry in Indonesia
In the previous article, we discussed how the textile industry is currently developing in Indonesia. We have also mentioned that the textile and garment industry is one of the five industries being prioritized to enter Industry 4.0.
With the progress of the textile industry and increasing creativity and technology, it is not surprising that many new types of textiles have emerged with unique characteristics.
In this article, we will discuss in more depth sophisticated machines that will help handle unique textiles in the production process. Curious? Come on, see the full explanation below!
Advanced Machines for the Development of the Textile Industry
Increasingly sophisticated technology is currently having a positive impact, especially on the textile and garment industry in Indonesia. Various sophisticated machines that function as fabric inspection, fabric relaxing, and fabric shrinking are the result of developments in the textile industry.
For example, in the apparel industry, many types of fabric are used. These fabrics have different characteristics. Because of these diverse characteristics, the handling and production processes are also different. Such as the treatment applied to Jacquard, Tile, Spandex/Lycra, and Suede fabrics.
Jacquard fabric is a special fabric because it looks luxurious and shiny. Patterns or motifs on jacquard fabric tend to appear embossed. This cloth is not produced using printing or embroidery techniques, but by weaving using a special machine.
Because it is made using a special technique and has a complicated pattern, this type of jacquard fabric must be cared for properly so it doesn’t get damaged easily. Fabric inspection can help the process of checking the condition of the jacquard automatically so that the embossed weave on the fabric remains beautiful and can enter the next process more quickly.
The second is Tile. Tile is a fabric with net-like characteristics, namely that it has a surface with holes, making it transparent. This fabric feels stiff because, in the manufacturing process, this fabric is often treated with starch, a substance mixed with water to make the fabric somewhat hard or stiff.
Because Tile is relatively fragile, care is needed when caring for it. Tile fabric that is not of good quality is also at risk of tearing the web easily. So, a machine is needed to check the condition of the fabric before entering the lining and cutting process. The fabric inspection machine will make checking easier because it is equipped with lights from above and on the table surface, as well as a motor to speed the fabric back and forth.
Third is Spandex/Lycra. Spandex/Lycra fabric is a fabric made from polyurethane-based manufactured fibers. This fabric has its advantages because it can last quite a long time. Spandex/Lycra fabric is a very elastic synthetic fabric.
Because it has different characteristics from fabrics in general, the treatment applied to care for clothes made from Spandex/Lycra is quite special. The type of spandex fabric that is elastic must consider the expansion and shrinkage factor. If the fabric is pulled or heated unevenly, it will risk the changing of its size.
The fabric shrinking machine will help with the expansion and shrinkage process of spandex before production so that in the next stage, the expansion and shrinkage of the fabric will be minimized. A fabric relaxing machine can also be used to relax spandex fabric before it is rolled out so that the fabric is given time to rest while it is unrolled, which will minimize fabric shrinkage when rolled out.
Lastly is Suede fabric. Suede is a fabric made from animal skin with a smooth surface like velvet. When compared to others, this suede fabric is not flammable.
Suede material has the characteristics of being smooth, soft, and flexible. This fabric is part of leather or a layer of leather obtained from special processes and techniques. It can be said that caring for this suede material is quite difficult.
Suede material shrinks easily when exposed to water and excessive heat. So improper handling can change the size and even color of the suede material. A fabric inspection machine can be a solution to ensure that the suede material you use is of good quality, and an automatic length meter, will help identify if there is shrinkage.
It’s quite difficult to handle those fabrics, isn’t it? But don’t worry! Pukka Indonusa will provide the best solution for your business. We have presented fabric inspection, fabric relaxing, and fabric shrinking to treat the fabrics mentioned above.
